We had Beavers and younger Cubs in the lantern parade with fanatically made trees made mostly by Scouts (with a little help from Beavers too). Older Cubs and Scouts helped on the tombola stall - We raised £99
Scout section were troopers at this event and cooked up MANY sausages and burgers for the general public, raising lots of money for the Mayor's charity. Beavers and Cubs also volunteered to help on our games stall, we raised £117
Our Group AGM had to take place via Zoom this year due to restrictions not being lifted as anticipated. We will hold a family BBQ as soon as it's safe to do so.

We had another super successful Camp at Home event. Thank you to Shane again for his great chat about what was happening in the night sky this weekend. We had a great campfire sing along thanks to Atlas and others.
Group Zoom sessions continue this term (Jan- Apr) with cooking, crystal maze, Chinese New Year, battleships, Among us, Italian Bake Off and Astronomy sessions.
Butchers Coppice
We previously used plastic bags to award all the badges that Scouts had earnt, but we have now changed to a GREENER alternative, brown paper envelopes, 100% recyclable. Not a cheaper option but much better for the environment!
We have stopped purchasing non-biodegradable plastic Scout woggles.
We are now sourcing them from the 'WoggleMakers' who hand-make biodegradable eco-friendly leather woggles.
We can help save the planet one woggle at a time!
HUGE THANK YOU to Reece Adams (scout parent) and his super dooper helpers for giving up their valuable Christmas holiday time to fit lots of external lighting free of labour charge! This will make the hut much safer.

Three leaders from Blandford joined other Scout Leaders from across the country to see what Land & Wave have to offer young people. They had a great weekend of fire lighting, axe throwing, archery and paddle boarding plus making new friends - Thanks Land & Wave

We now have all the paths resurfaced and we have an area for extra parking too.

It didn't take long to pull down the old log store which has now been replaced with a large upvc covered shed neatly tucked away behind the hedging, making it much safer for all
Thanks to Shere Khan (Shottsford Cub Leader & expert knotter) we now have various things hanging from the tree for young people to safely play with
The Elliott family and some other volunteers have been busy painting most internal walls of the HQ and replacing the floor tiles in Scout & Cub rooms
We joined Scouts across the UK for a camp at home event. 80 Scouts took part from Blandford, Charlton Marshall & The Winterbornes.
Scout sessions for all sections continue throughout Lockdown 1 with lots of different fun activities and games - thank you to all Leaders taking part
We set sail for a virtual at home camp with other Scouts from across Dorset County. Atlas (Beaver Leader) did a great family international quiz and we had a good campfire
Some of our Beaver, Cubs & Scouts took part in the Scouts HQ fundraising event and clocked up some miles and money! Huge well done to those who took part
Throughout the Summer holidays and the Autumn/Winter term we continued zooms but as a Group instead of individual sections. We had a forensic scientist, interactive Dino hunt and lots of baking, escape rooms and games

We couldn't be physically together for this years remembrance but we did have quite a few Scouts join us via zoom. Thank you to Atlas for putting together a great presentation to share
During one of our Group weekly Scout sessions we created 'caring hands' which were sent to elderly relatives or care homes.
It's become a tradition to go to have a Group Panto trip over the festive period and so we continued the tradition at home this year.
Jack & The Beanstalk was created by the same company as the one we see annually at Poole Lighthouse

Blandford Town Council invited us to serve refreshments for their Easter Egg Hunt event during the Easter holidays.
Big thank you to the Beavers that helped at this event, it was a lovely couple of hours in the Woodhouse Gardens!
Thank you to all the families that came to support his years AGM! Due to the rain we had to change plans of outdoor relay games to a beetledrive indoors. It's great to start a new year with all key committee roles filled and we had another parent offer to join the committee
A spectacle of more than 40 classic cars competed in a grand odyssey of a rally which began at Cape Trafalgar in Spain. Lots of Scouts turned up to show support in welcoming the cars as they passed through Blandford.

This year we were in The Crown garden which was great. Lots of visitors to the stall. We had the biggest tombola we have ever seen!
